So much as happened over the past week, I’m not sure where to begin. Fortunately, I shouldn’t really need to “begin” because of my previous two blogs Blessings Blessings and Exponential Blessings. Read those first, in order, and you’ll get a better idea of how we got to this point.
We meet with Cristina for the first time, face to face, on Saturday afternoon. The girl has definitely been busy. Because of her tireless efforts, including tons of emails and phonecalls, the magnificent details of our wedding plans have escalated to heights we never would have imagined as being reachable by our humble hands. We are so thankful for her and her generosity and hard work. We could never thank her enough.
If you read the previous blogs, you’d know about the limo service, and you’d know about some of the other details, but let me share some updated details about what we have been given/offered… Remember, God has provided all of this for us and we don’t have to pay a dime…
Lisa and the girls are going to have all of their makeup and hair done for free, and will be loaned beautiful diamond jewelry to wear. I believe they will be getting their dresses for free or at least 50% off. Since I’m not involved with that, I’m not sure of the details, but they’re saving TONS of money.
The guys and I are all getting our tuxes for free.
Lisa has always wanted a horse and carriage for her wedding, and now that is a reality. She will be given a carriage ride drawn by beautiful Clydesdales.
When the guys and I arrive in our limo, the red carpet will be rolled out for us.
We have 2 florists working on our wedding, providing us with probably $15,000 worth of flowers alone.
We have had some beautiful venues already offer their services, though Cristina currently has 3 people trying to get us in at the Grand Tradition Estate in Fallbrook.
We will have a professional photographer as well as videographer. The special gift for us in this case is that we will be given full rights to all of the photography, which will be given to us on disc. This is normally something that would cost thousands of dollars to obtain. Despite the fact we are being given the photographer for free, I still plan on having my awesome friend Corinne there to take photos, if she still wants to. They would be much more special to me.
We also have been offered a no-budget cake. The lady making the cake is, of course, professional, and will make any cake we like to any specifications we desire. In addition to the ‘actual wedding cake’ that the girls will choose, the cake designer has also offered me my own “Groom’s cake” that I can have made and decorated any way I wish, so I can express my creative side. So, yes, we’re getting TWO cakes.
We will also have chocolate fountains, a full-service drink bar (completely NON-alcoholic), and most likely a coffee bar (mother’s request). Since I am such a fan of hot sauces, Cristina has also found someone who will provide us with an actual “hot sauce bar” as well.
We also have a DJ committed to being there for us for the entire day. It also seems we will have a pianist, violinist, and other such elegant musicians there.
In addition to all of the wonderful wedding event miracles, we have been given a fabulous honeymoon in Hawaii. We will be staying at the Hilton, probably in a nice suite, and will most likely be there for a week (because Lisa only has that much time off). All expenses will be paid, including any meals and activities, during our honeymoon. The only money we would need would be for souvenirs.
Along the way, another wedding venue gave us a gift of a honeymoon package, even though we chose not to use their location for the wedding. This honeymoon package can be used at any time within a year of our marriage, so it would make a great 1 year anniversary trip. There were many options for this package, one of them being a hot air balloon ride.
The Press Enterprise is interested in doing a major article on this event, which means thousands of readers will know about it. It may end up on magazines, and even television. We really don’t know where God is going with all of this, but we’re taking it all in and loving every minute of it, ever-so-grateful for every bit of it.
As of this past Saturday, Cristina estimated the total value of our wedding so far is about $60,000-$80,000. I don’t even know if that includes the honeymoon or not.
