Does anyone care??

Haha, no, I’m not whining about getting attention this time.  I’m listening to the Cranberries and the last lines she sang as I started this blog were “Does anyone ca-aa-aarre?”

I’m really liking my new banner.  I can’t tell you how much time I’ve spent fiddling with different ideas and designs, trying to come up with something clever or catchy that also says something about me or my personality.  Really.  I can’t tell you.  I have no idea.  I just know it was a long time.  I thought a picture of my face would be a nice touch… so I played with several ideas using pictures… but finally I decided that the title “Life” and the words “and then some” just really didn’t need to be there… so I took them out, and I think it was the best choice.  Of course, then I was just left with a picture of my face and nothing else… so I wanted to put some random things in there that had something to do with me or my life.  I first thought of pieces of photos, but that thought left in a hurry.  Words.  Had to be words.  Long story short… I used words.

It’s really humid again today… well, it’s rainy… so obviously it’s gonna be humid.  It’s not a cool rain, though.  Most of the morning it was nice and cool, but now it’s quite warm.  Y’know that feeling after you take a nice hot shower in an unventilated room, and all the steam makes it nearly impossible to dry off… not to mention the heat causing you to sweat, which just adds to the moisture…   well, it kinda feels like that, except that I’m dressed, and not in an unventilated room… and I didn’t just take a shower… and I’m not you.

I actually had a shower like that when we were up at June Lake during my camping trip.

Stoopid Poopin’ Cat, Weed Highs, and Rodentia

Ever since we’ve had that kitten in our house temporarily, our cat Kloe will not use her litter box.  She pooped in my room (well, it’s the computer room, but we call it “my” room.  The bedroom would be “our” room), she pooped in the living room the other day and she did it again this morning.  I haven’t picked it up yet.  I just lit some incense in there to help mask the odor.

Yeah.  I know we just need to change the litter in the litter box.  Thing is, we’ve been waiting on a check so that we can afford to go to the store for groceries and things like that.  We’re hoping to get a check today.  Then we can change the litter.

I mentioned extras and there are a few.

This morning I went outside as I usually do in the mornings.  It’s a bit humid, but it’s mostly cloudy, which is really, really nice.  I went out back and walked around.  We used to express how bad the weeds were in our yard by telling people that it was about thigh high in some places.  Well, I just went out there and encountered a few weeds that were literally taller than I am.  I’m about 5’8″, which I believe is fairly average.  I’m not very tall but I’m not exactly short.  At any rate, a weed should not be taller than me!

Last night I went outside as I usually do at night.  Really, I do.  It’s usually nice out.  Anyway, I noticed Dodger had is attention over by the “door” side of the shed.  The “door” side is the side that has the door on it, duh… and that is the said that faces away from the house.  Anyway, he seemed pretty interested in something back there, and kept looking up at the wall or ceiling or something.  I really didn’t know what he was doing.  I drew his attention away a few times simply because I thought he was being stupid or crazy.

Weeellllll as it turns out, I looked up toward the top part of the back wall of the carport area where he was looking, and I happened to catch a glimpse of a little rodent face sticking out a little from a mostly enclosed portion of the carport wall.  So Dodger wasn’t crazy.  He knew they were there.  There were two other locations he took interest in as well… the stack of pallets and another corner of the shed.  Were there more creatures in those locations?

The rat that I saw wasn’t a mouse.  It was a rat… a medium-sized rat.  It was also the typical type of rat you normally picture when you think of rats.  I mention this because I’ve seen many rodents and types of rats out in the wild… kangaroo rats, wood rats, and others.  They’re all different… but this time it was the type of rat normally conveyed in the media as living in sewers and things like that.  It was the kind of rat people usually have as pet rats… like I had once.  Although I had a very large rat, and this thing in the shed wall was, as I said… about medium.

Anyway, it isn’t bothering me much being out in the shed.  I’m not worried about it ruining anything, really.  Don’t get me wrong.  That doesn’t mean that I necessarily want it to stay there and reproduce again and again… but it’s not causing any trouble out there.

Well that’s enough for now.
